Finpecia Is Generic Propecia

Finpecia is a Generic version of Propecia
First of all Propecia is the brand name for finasteride and is the first and only FDA approved pill proven to treat male pattern hair loss on the vertex (top of head) and the receding hair line. It is a prescription medication with side effects.
The reason people chose Finpecia over Propecia is because it cost significantly less and if you don’t have a drug plan it can really add up. It’s manufacture in India by a company called Cipla with the exact same chemical as Propecia (finasteride 1mg), which is mainly used as a hair loss treatment because it blocks DHT created by the male hormone testosterone.
Women with thinning hair and hair loss have a smaller amount of the male hormone testosterone, which is why women do not go completely bald like men. Instead the low amounts of DHT choke the hair follicles until the hair becomes thinner but not completely bald. Read more on female hair loss.
Finpecia is a DHT blocker that is very effective on men between the ages of 18 and 41 because of the increased testosterone levels and cannot only prevent further hair loss it can increase hair growth because it gives the follicles a chance to recover and grow.
As the DHT is produced it attaches to the small Androgens receptors at the follicle slowly choking it, depriving it of the nutrients that the blood stream brings. A DHT blocker helps to prevent large amounts of DHT to be created thus stopping the hair from becoming thin and with proper hair loss vitamins the hair begins to grow again.
The proper medical explanation is Finpecia is a synthetic 4-azasteroid compound that is a specific inhibitor of 5 alfa- reductase, an intracellular enzyme that converts androgenic testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Administration of finasteride 1mg decreases scalp and serum DHT concentrations, increased amounts have been proven to responsible for male pattern hair loss (androgenetic alopecia) and even though there many other reasons for female hair loss DHT can be a contributor as well.
There are other proven DHT blockers for women on the market and Finpecia should only ever be prescribed to men because it lowers readings of the PSA screening test for prostate cancer. If you're scheduled to have your PSA level checked, make sure the doctor knows you're taking Finpecia.
As with most hair loss treatments, it may take several months for the Finpecia to work. The standard rule for and hair loss treatment is that it should be taken at least for a minimum of 6 months.
Do not stop taking Finpecia without checking with your doctor first as it is a prescription medication. If you decide to cease taking this medication it can result in thinning hair and hair loss usually within 12 months.
Women who are or may potentially be pregnant must not use Finpecia and should not handle crushed or broken tablets of Finpecia. If a woman who is pregnant with a male baby absorbs the active ingredient in Finpecia, either by swallowing or through the skin, it may cause abnormalities of a male babies sex. Women should not even handle any crushed or broken Finpecia tablets when they are pregnant or may potentially be pregnant because of the possibility of absorption of finasteride into the system and the subsequent potential risk to a male fetus.
As I mentioned before there are Finpecia side effects, which is why most choose to use a natural hair loss treatment. The following have been reports just days after use: allergic reactions including hives, rash, or itching also swelling of the lips and face, problems with ejaculation, breast tenderness and enlargement, and testicular pain. A small number of men experienced certain sexual side effects such as erectile dysfunctions, less desire for sex; and, a decrease in the amount of semen. Each of these side effects occurred in less than 2% of men during a controlled clinical study where doctors reported patient prescription use.
There have been no drug interactions of clinical importance reported and Finasteride does not appear to affect the cytochrome P450-linked drug metabolising enzyme systems. Compounds that have been tested in men include antipyrine, digoxin, propranolol, theophylline, and warfarin and no interactions were found.
The prescription of Finasteride usually directs men to take 1 tablet (1mg) a day usually first thing in the morning and any issues should be reported to you doctor right away since finasteride is metabolized extensively in the liver.
Other alternatives to Finpecia (Generic Propecia) are natural hair loss treatments that effectively stop DHT in women and men without any side effects. See our list of proven hair loss treatments.
